Welcome to September! Here in America, September begins the seasonal transition from Summer to Fall: “meterological autumn” begins on September 1st; a lot of seasonal businesses close after Labor Day weekend (Sept. 2-4); and actual Fall begins with the Autumnal Equinox on Sept. 22nd this year. Eastern Orthodox Christians actually begin their ecclesiastical calendar year (for church holidays) on Sept. 1st!

The Hammer Center will be open all Labor Day weekend, with the only change in time on Monday (9/3), when we will open at 10am instead of 7:30am.

Despite the beginnings of Fall, we are still enjoying some great summer weather here in Tulsa, so take advantage of it by checking out one of our fun outdoor games here from the Front Desk of the Hammer Center! We now have Spikeball, in addition to bocce ball (aka lawn bowling or bowls), croquet, yard darts, disc golf kits (includes 3 disks and a map/scorecard) and flag football flag sets (football not included)!

The outdoor fire pit on the east side patio is now fully operational, so ask a Front Desk attendant to light it up! Please avoid the temptation to roast anything in the fire, however, as we have to keep the area clean and safe!

For scheduled Hammer events, Quest Scholarship students will be meeting in a few different sesions here at the Hammer on Friday, September 8th, in various parts of the building, as a part of College Weekend.

That Friday evening, the ORU Chinese Students Ministry will be meeting upstairs in the Fenimore and Garden Vista room from 6:30-9:00pm.
