October is here! Pumpkins, corn mazes, pumpkin spice lattes, apple cider, pumpkin spice cookies, candy corn, pumpkin spice candy corn . . .

This week at the Hammer Center we have:

Tuesday, October 3rd

  • 7-9:30pm: Nursing students! The Mu Iota chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society will be meeting up in the Fenimore Room.

Friday, October 6th

  • 7-10pm: Engineering students! The ORU chapter of the IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) will be meeting in the Fenimore room today.

Saturday, October 7th

  • 10am-4pm: The History, Humanities, and Government Department is having their HHG Campaign in a Day program by American Majority in the Fenimore Room. Attendees will jump into the role of a hypothetical campaign, complete with a candidate and key staff roles. The teams select who will be their candidate and assign campaign staff roles. The day alternates between briefings and campaign planning sessions. The attendees apply what they have learned in the briefings and are given campaign twists throughout the day. It is a great way for students to learn campaign skills and have fun competing!

  • 6:30-8:30pm: The ORU Gaming Club returns with another Study Night, also in the Fenimore Room, so come and get some homework done with friends!

Sunday, October 8th

  • 3:45-6pm: The Hammer Center and ORU Intramurals co-host our first Disc Golf Tournament, up on our disc golf green, adjacent to Upper Lot. The winning player will get $20 in Eagle Bucks as a prize! We will have disc golf sets w/3 discs ea. for the first 12 players who sign up, or you may bring your own.
